Kaltura lets the owner of a video attach the deck as a file. When nothing is attached, the Video2Any extension reads the slides from a standalone Kaltura or MediaSpace player as they are shown.
1. Look below the video for an attachment
Open the recording in MediaSpace or your course. When the owner attached a PowerPoint or PDF, it is listed below the media details with a download icon. Some schools ask you to sign in before the file can be saved.
Slides shown inside the video, such as a picture-in-picture slide stream, are not a file you can save. Only an attachment is.
2. Ask the owner to attach it
The owner adds a file from My Media: they edit the video and upload the deck under Attachments, which newer versions call Assets. Your institution has to have attachments turned on, and interactive video entries do not support them.
3. Extract the slides from the playback
When nothing is attached and you are allowed to keep notes from the recording, the Video2Any extension can read the slides from the player. Open the standalone Kaltura or MediaSpace page rather than a player embedded in a course, make the presentation large and start the extension. The tab has to stay open until the run finishes, but it does not have to stay in front.
If you already have a copy of the video file, drop it in the box above instead. Either way, you review the slides in the editor and save them as PowerPoint or PDF.

- Does the extension save the Kaltura video or its audio?
- No. The extension transfers still frames to Video2Any. For audio-based work you need a permitted video file. If the original presentation is attached, use that instead.
- Why can’t I see any attachments?
- Either the owner has not attached a file, or your institution has not turned attachments on. Some schools also hide them until you sign in.
- What is free?
- The first 30 minutes per video are free without an account. A free account includes one full-length recording. Then $2.99 unlocks 2 recordings, or a one-time $49 payment removes the analysis length limit.
- What can I edit?
- The slides are images from the recording. You can reorder, crop and annotate them; the original text and charts are not rebuilt as editable objects. Free PPTX/PDF exports add a final Video2Any credit page. The lifetime plan removes it.
