"Getting on a hook, or PostgreSQL extensibility" — FOSDEM 2021
30 slides Video2Any pulled straight from the conference recording — no upload, all in the browser.
Alexey Kondratov · FOSDEM 2021, PostgreSQL devroom · video.fosdem.org/2021/D.postgresql/postgresql_extensibility.webm

Alexey Kondratov spoke in the PostgreSQL devroom at FOSDEM 2021 on the hooks an extension can attach to — where the planner, the executor and DDL processing let outside code in, and what that makes possible without patching the server. Video2Any stepped through the 29-minute recording and kept 30 clean frames, one per slide change. Several slides are terminal output with an error highlighted and an arrow pointing at it; those come through as pictures, so an error message on one is something you read and retype rather than search. Every image below is real output, extracted in a browser tab with nothing uploaded.
Private by design
Uploaded files are decoded, compared, and assembled inside your browser tab. They never touch our servers; close the tab and nothing is left behind.
FAQ
- Are these the real slides?
- Yes — frames from the published recording, one per slide change. FOSDEM publishes its 2021 recordings under CC BY 2.0 BE, which permits reuse with credit; we credit FOSDEM and link the original above.
- Can I search the terminal output on these slides?
- Not inside the deck. Each slide is the frame as it appeared, so the table is a picture rather than text — the transcript on this page is what search works on.
- Can I do this with a talk I have?
- Yes, free for your own files. Drop the recording in and Video2Any detects each slide and exports an .pptx or PDF in your browser, with nothing uploaded.
