"From an HPC cluster to containerized ensemble runs" — FOSDEM 2021
52 slides Video2Any pulled straight from the conference recording — no upload, all in the browser.
Carsten Kutzner · FOSDEM 2021, HPC, Big Data and Data Science devroom · video.fosdem.org/2021/D.hpc/hpc_containerized_ensemble.webm

Carsten Kutzner spoke in the HPC, Big Data and Data Science devroom at FOSDEM 2021 on lifting GROMACS off a traditional cluster and into a cloud SLURM setup, then out to containers running globally. Video2Any stepped through the 28-minute recording and kept 52 clean frames, one per slide change. Molecular simulation slides carry rendered structures and benchmark plots rather than bullets, and they extract the same way — Video2Any compares pictures rather than reading them, so a rendered lattice that appears and holds is a slide like any other. Every image below is real output, extracted in a browser tab with nothing uploaded.
Private by design
Uploaded files are decoded, compared, and assembled inside your browser tab. They never touch our servers; close the tab and nothing is left behind.
FAQ
- Are these the actual slides from the talk?
- Yes. Video2Any read the published recording and kept one image per slide change. FOSDEM publishes its 2021 recordings under CC BY 2.0 BE, which permits reuse with credit; we credit FOSDEM and link to the original file above.
- Do benchmark plots and rendered structures extract cleanly?
- Yes. Nothing in the detection depends on what the slide contains — only on whether the picture changed and then held still, which a plot does exactly as a bullet list does.
- Can I do this with a talk I have?
- Yes, and it is free for your own files. Drop the recording in and Video2Any detects each slide, keeps one clean frame per change, and exports an .pptx or PDF — in your browser, with nothing uploaded.
