"Two approaches to building a distribution" — FOSDEM 2021
24 slides Video2Any pulled straight from the conference recording — no upload, all in the browser.
Bernhard Rosenkränzer · FOSDEM 2021, Distributions devroom · video.fosdem.org/2021/D.distributions/openharmony_and_openmandriva.webm

Bernhard Rosenkränzer works on both OpenHarmony and OpenMandriva, and used his slot in the Distributions devroom at FOSDEM 2021 to set the two side by side — how each builds, updates and ships, from someone with a foot in both camps. Video2Any stepped through the 22-minute recording and kept 24 clean frames, one per slide change. The speaker's camera occupies the top-right corner throughout, and Video2Any excluded it from the comparison on its own; nothing was cropped before the run. Every image below is real output, extracted in a browser tab with nothing uploaded.

Uploaded files are decoded, compared, and assembled inside your browser tab. They never touch our servers; close the tab and nothing is left behind.
FAQ
- Are these the actual slides from the talk?
- Yes. Video2Any read the published recording and kept one image per slide change. FOSDEM publishes its 2021 recordings under CC BY 2.0 BE, which permits reuse with credit; we credit FOSDEM and link to the original file above.
- The webcam sits over the slides here. How is that handled?
- Video2Any looks at the whole recording first, finds the regions that never stop moving, and leaves them out when comparing one frame to the next. A camera corner is exactly that, so it stops registering as a slide change.
- Can I do this with a talk I have?
- Yes, and it is free for your own files. Drop the recording in and Video2Any detects each slide, keeps one clean frame per change, and exports an .pptx or PDF — in your browser, with nothing uploaded.
