Extract slides from a YouTube video

YouTube is not a paste-a-link source here. Use the browser extension on a tab you already have open, or a file you own.

The extension is the route for a YouTube video you can watch but have not downloaded.

Video2Any does not download from YouTube, scrape the page, or get around its playback rules. That leaves two honest routes: the extension reading a video you are watching, or a video file you already have the right to use.

1. Use the extension on a video you are watching

Install the Video2Any extension in Chrome or Edge, open the video on youtube.com, and start the extension while the slides are on screen. The tab has to stay open until capture finishes, but it does not have to stay in front.

The extension reads the frames the page is already showing. It does not fetch a stream from YouTube, save the video, or work on a video you cannot play. If the player hands it blank frames, Video2Any does not get around that.

2. Or use a file you already have

If the uploader enabled downloads, or you recorded the talk yourself, you have a file you can use. Drop it in the box above and the extraction runs in this tab. The extension is not needed for that route.

This is the better route for a lecture or a conference talk you will cite. Your own copy plays reliably, and a long recording can be processed without keeping a browser tab on the player.

3. Review the pages, then export

Remove the title cards, the long explanation with no slide, and the end screen. Crop a logo strip or the player controls if they appear on a page. Add a slide the detector skipped.

Export PowerPoint to keep the talk as a deck, or PDF to read and print. Every page is an image from the video, so the text on a slide cannot be selected or retyped.

Why there is no link box

A link box would promise something the product does not do. Video2Any cannot read a YouTube stream without the video playing in a browser, and it will not download a video the viewer has no right to keep.

The extension works because the video is already being played in a tab you opened. That also keeps the permission with the person watching instead of handing the tool a link it would have to bypass.

Extracting slides vs generating a new deck

Many “YouTube to PPT” tools listen to the audio and ask AI to write a new presentation. Video2Any does the other job: it keeps the pages that were already on screen.

If you need editable AI-written slides from a talk’s narration, use a generator. If you need the original slides back as images in a deck, use this page.

Can I paste a YouTube link?
No. This page has no link box, and YouTube links are not accepted. The two supported routes are the extension on a video you are watching and a video file you already have. Video2Any does not scrape unauthorized content or bypass YouTube.
Does Video2Any download the video or its audio?
No. The extension transfers still frames to Video2Any. It does not save the video, rip the audio, or keep a copy of the stream.
What if the talk is also posted as a lecture recording?
If you have a local lecture file, the lecture page is written for that job. If you only have the public video, use the extension while you watch it.
Why does the extension capture blank frames?
A protected player, an embedded frame, or a page that draws the video in a way the extension cannot read will give blank frames. Video2Any does not bypass those protections. Try the video on its own page, or use a file you are allowed to keep.
Do I need a YouTube account?
No. The extension reads what your browser is already showing. Signing in to YouTube changes what you can watch, not what Video2Any can capture.
What is free?
The first 30 minutes per video are free without an account. A free account includes one full-length recording. Then the year pass is $29 (no auto-renew), monthly is $9.99 with $10 of credit (cancel any time), or a one-time $49 payment removes the analysis length limit.
What can I edit?
The slides are images from the recording. You can reorder, crop and annotate them; the original text and charts are not rebuilt as editable objects. Free PPTX/PDF exports add a final Video2Any credit page. The lifetime plan removes it.
